Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring 5+ years of Cardiac Cath/Interventional Cardiology experience, including Structural Heart and TAVR procedures.

• Work in the Cath Lab department of a teaching hospital
• Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab work settings
• Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Must have the ability to float to other facilities within a 75+ mile radius as needed
• Uses Epic charting system
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates

Requirements

• Active CA RN license in hand required
• BSN required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 5+ years of experience in Cardiac Cath/Interventional Cardiology required
• Experience with Structural Heart and TAVR procedures required
• Cath/EP and pre/post procedural care experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Skilled in cardiac cath lab procedures including PCI, TAVR, left/right heart catheterization, IABP placement/removal, and Impella insertion
• Experience with procedural sedation administration/monitoring and emergency medications including antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and IV vasopressors
• Proficient in vascular closure systems, sheath removal/monitoring, and topical hemostasis techniques
• Two references from most recent employer required for consideration
• Completed references must be in hand at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
• Circulate procedures and monitor patients undergoing procedural sedation
• Perform sheath removal and monitoring along with vascular closure techniques
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with full employment history for rehire eligibility review
• Travel pairs are allowed but generally will not be placed on the same unit, and married couples may not work on the same unit
• RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager at time of offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract and no RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
• First-time travelers may not be considered given the travel experience requirement
