Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring an OH or compact RN license and PICU experience with recent Level 1 acuity exposure.

Details

• Work in the PICU of a children's hospital setting
• 13-week assignment on night shift (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Float requirement to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS units as needed
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (OH State or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of current PICU experience required, with recent Level 1 acuity experience
• First-time travelers considered with closer to 3 years of PICU experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in ventilator management, care of ventilated patients, and acute airway maintenance
• Skilled in hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/arterial line management
• Skilled in administration of emergency medications including vasopressors, antiarrhythmics, and continuous sedation
• Experience with pediatric dosage calculations and use of the Broselow system
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a supervisor or manager

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients in a Level 1 PICU environment
• Floating to other units is a facility expectation and point of emphasis
• Must comply with facility attendance policies as no call/no shows are taken seriously
• Candidates who have worked in a permanent role at this facility within the last 2 years are not eligible
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted for this role
