Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Stepdown unit night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience, ACLS, and hands-on cardiac care skills including drip titration and post-CV surgery management.
Details
- Stepdown unit in an acute care hospital setting
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Patient ratio of 5:1
- Experience with post-cardiovascular surgery patients required
- Proficiency with cardiac drip titration (Nitro, Cardizem, Amio, Esmolol) required
- Experience with BiPAP and AirVO high-flow therapy required
- Charting via Epic EMR
- Floating to Med/Surg required based on unit needs
- On-call as needed by the unit
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active AR RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Stepdown or related experience
- Experience with post-CV surgical patients and cardiac drip management
- Ability to recognize and respond to a deteriorating patient
- U.S. Social Security Number required; Canadian SINs are not accepted
- No gaps in employment of 90 or more days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Must be comfortable with rapid turnaround and changing clinical priorities
- Black scrubs required
- Up to 5 days of RTO is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are subject to local candidate rules and restrictions
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment unless documented renewal is already scheduled
