Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position in Wichita, KS, requiring at least 1 year of acute care ICU experience and active BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.
Details
- 12-bed ICU unit within a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week contract
- Patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3 (not guaranteed)
- Equipment used includes monitors, CRRT, IV pumps, fluid warmers, and blanket coolers
- EMR: Meditech (prior experience preferred)
- Common procedures include dialysis line insertion, arterial line insertion, central line insertion, cardioversion, thoracentesis, and chest tube insertion
- Floating required to all three Wesley campuses as needed
Requirements
- Active KS RN license or compact RN license required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment)
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital ICU experience required
- Ventilator, IV, and GTT competency preferred
- Prior Meditech experience preferred
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- Strong emphasis on patient experience and communication with staff and providers
- Unit has received Honorable Mention for Unit of Distinction in 2021 and 2022
- Low hospital-associated infection rates and low staff turnover
