Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Flex Pool Night Shift position in Hawaii, floating across Med/Surg and Step-Down units with a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active HI RN license required.
Details
- Hospital-based position floating between Medical, Laulima (Surgical Acute), and Cardiovascular units
- Medical unit has 77 beds; Laulima unit has 18 beds; Cardiovascular unit has 15 beds
- Patient ratios: Medical Unit 1:6 (days/evenings) and 1:8 (nights); Laulima 1:6; Cardiovascular 1:4 (ratios may vary)
- Meditech EMR used; experience with Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes required
- 12-hour night shifts (1845–0715), scheduled 36 hours per week after the first week of orientation
- 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC
- Experience with Med/Surg and Step-Down patient populations
- Documented proof of immunity required; medical and religious exemptions will not be accepted
Additional Information
- Flex Pool RN floats between the Medical, Laulima (Surgical Acute), and Cardiovascular units
- Orientation is provided for each unit prior to independent practice
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of the assignment; candidates should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend a Friday Employee Health appointment
- Professional nursing attire (clean scrubs) required
