Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position at a major cancer hospital and research center in Ohio, requiring an active OH or compact RN license.

Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a cancer hospital and research setting
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
16-week contract

Requirements

Active OH or compact RN license required
2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or Supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable as the 2nd reference; co-worker references are not accepted
Active certifications must be provided for consideration

Additional Information

Local candidates are accepted
Former employees of the facility are eligible after a minimum 6-month separation
RTO must be requested upfront and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract duration
Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be initiated promptly after accepting the position — candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to a fingerprinting location or complete a mailed packet upon receipt

Pros

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.

Cons

Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my first travel assignment. American Traveler has made the entire process feel easy from start to finish.
