Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position on a 40-bed adult unit in Goldsboro, NC, requiring a valid NC or compact RN license and at least one year of nursing experience.
Details
- 40-bed adult Med/Surg unit specializing in orthopedics, general surgery, and urology
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week
- RN-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6 on nights
- Averages 5–10 admissions per day
- On-call requirement of 1 standby shift per 2 weeks
- Up to 4 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
- Holiday coverage required based on staffing needs
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state license valid for NC
- Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC
- Current NIHSS certification
- Current CPI certification (CPI-A)
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required; 2+ years of Med/Surg experience highly preferred
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred
Additional Information
- Experienced nurses can expect an orientation period of approximately 3–5 weeks
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Coordinates and delivers patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams on care planning, discharge planning, and performance improvement
- Performs bedside point-of-care testing as part of patient care plans
