Description
American Traveler is hiring a Travel MRI Technologist for a 13-week assignment at a Level II Trauma Center in Hudson, FL, with at least 1 year of recent MRI experience required.
Details
- Located in the MRI department of a 309-bed Level II Trauma Center in Hudson, FL
- Imaging department is on the first floor of the main hospital building
- 1:1 patient ratio in a single-scanner MRI suite staffed by 3 technologists
- Procedures include neuro exams (MRA/MRI of head, neck, and spine), abdominal exams (MRCP, MRA/MRI of aorta, liver, and kidneys), and MSK exams (extremities and arthrograms)
- Primary equipment: GE Explorer Lift Signa 1.5T
- EMR: Meditech
- Weekend shifts, Saturday through Monday, 7:00 AM – 8:30 PM (13.5-hour shifts)
- On-call required 1–2 days per month
- Holiday coverage expected on a rotating basis with hospital employees
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of MRI experience; allied candidates must have 6 months of experience within the last 6 months
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of assignment start)
- ARRT or equivalent MRI certification required
- License required if applicable
- Ability to work independently in the department with radiologist availability for guidance
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no exceptions; Canadian SSNs are not accepted
- Two professional references required (Florida is among the states with this requirement)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Perform a wide range of MRI exams including neuro, abdominal, and MSK studies using built-in scanner protocols
- Must maintain a safe MRI environment and deliver high-quality patient care
- Preferred candidates can adapt protocols to meet individual patient or physician needs and are open to learning new procedures via onsite and virtual applications
- Department is undergoing a software upgrade from GE 23X to GE 30X with AirDL, which will enable faster scans and new neuro and abdominal sequences
- Future department growth includes a planned second MRI scanner
- Radiology staff wear black scrubs
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted
- First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but independent working ability is a firm requirement
