Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Cardiovascular Step-Down (CVSU) night shift position in Birmingham, AL, requiring 2+ years of cardiac/CV surgery experience and AHA certifications.
Details
- Located in a 595-bed Joint Commission-accredited hospital recognized for cardiovascular services, stroke care, and surgical care
- CVSU Step-Down unit with 11 beds serving post-cardiac surgery patients
- Patient ratio of 4:1
- Charting via Cerner EMR
- Monitoring performed on GE equipment
- Night shift schedule: 18:30–07:00, 3x12s
- Two weekend shifts required per month (4 shifts per 6-week schedule)
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required to other ICUs and occasionally to med/surg
Requirements
- Active AL RN license or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration, with no hits on record
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — American Red Cross certifications are not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac/CV surgery nursing experience required
- AL or compact state RN license required
Additional Information
- Candidate must provide SSN and DOB for consideration
- Navy scrubs required; fleece is not permitted
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify — local candidates are not accepted
- Candidates residing in Florida must live more than 100 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
- An outgoing personality and strong teamwork skills are a plus for this unit
