Description
American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer with 4+ years of experience and ARRT certifications for a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center in New Haven, CT.
Details
- Work across 4 outpatient medical center sites in the greater New Haven, CT area, with floating between locations as needed
- Sites include locations in Guilford, North Haven, New Haven (Long Wharf), and the main campus Smilow Cancer Hospital
- Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center with 1,567 staffed beds
- Charting performed in Epic
- Schedule is Monday through Friday with shifts of either 8:30 AM–5:00 PM or 12:00–8:30 PM as needed, plus every other Saturday 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
- When scheduled on Saturday, a weekday off is provided; schedule is posted one week in advance
- Some sites have late evening hours until 8:30 PM
- 5x8-hour shift structure
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of ultrasound technologist experience required
- ARRT (M) and ARRT (R) certifications required
- Experience with Hologic equipment required
- Trauma center experience at a large facility required
- State license required if applicable; pending license accepted but must be active prior to start date
- 1 reference required for consideration
- Flu vaccine required; declinations are not accepted
- COVID vaccine required; religious or medical exemptions accepted
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify; local candidates are not accepted for this position type
- Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
- RTO requests of 7 days or fewer may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval
- Teal scrub tops and bottoms are required
- Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
- Parking is available at a cost of approximately $125/month
