Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position in San Antonio, TX, requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and an active TX RN license.
Details
- Position is in a high-acuity COVID ICU (2 South) within a hospital setting in San Antonio, TX
- 14-bed unit with a 1:2 patient ratio
- Cares for ICU and COVID patient populations
- Advanced interventions performed on the unit include VV ECMO, CRRT (NxtStg), chest tube insertions, and central line insertions
- ECMO NxtStg equipment is used on the unit
- Primary documentation system is Meditech; experience with Meditech is preferred
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 3 shifts per week with rotating weekends (every other weekend)
- No on-call requirements
- Floating is required per the facility's floating policy
Requirements
- Active TX RN license required; temporary licenses will not be accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Proficiency with vasoactive drips required
- Strong understanding of hemodynamics required
- ECMO experience preferred
- CRRT (NxtStg) experience preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- Scrub color requirement: navy scrub top and pants; navy or white scrub jacket
- Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
- Body art should be covered whenever possible
- Hair should be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors; facial hair must be neatly trimmed
- This is a 13-week contract with the possibility of a 26-week assignment
