Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PACU position at a Magnet, Level II Trauma hospital in Alaska, requiring an active AK RN license and PACU experience.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting — Magnet Facility, Level II Trauma Center, and USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
- PACU unit with Phase II recovery responsibilities
- Pediatric PACU experience preferred
- 13-week contract
- Schedule: 3x12-hour evening shifts with variable start/stop times (0700–1900, 0800–2000, 0900–2100, 1000–2200, or 1100–2300)
- On-call required: 1 call shift per month
- Weekend requirement: 1 weekend shift per month
- No floating within the facility
- Charting via Epic (experience required)
- Scrubs provided by facility
- Free parking on-site
Requirements
- Active Alaska (AK) RN license required; pending license acceptable for initial screening but AK license must be in hand prior to offer
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Candidate must have a permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent employees of the facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
- Candidates who previously worked at any Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per diem) must disclose the location(s) and dates worked
- All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state of Alaska; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
- Local candidates are not accepted — permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; minimal RTO is strongly preferred
