Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring a WV or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details
- Med/Surg unit (5S) in a hospital setting
- Patient ratios of 1:5–7
- Night shift schedule, either 3x12 or 4x12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Weekday and weekend shifts required
- 13-week contract with possibility of extension
- Charting performed in Cerner EMR
- Blocked schedule requests cannot be guaranteed, but the unit will make efforts to accommodate travelers
Requirements
- Active WV or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Travel nursing experience is not required
- Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
- Two manager or charge nurse references from within the past year required for consideration

- Scrubs are not provided — candidates should plan to supply their own
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- The facility has a strict attendance policy and will only tolerate 2–3 call-offs per contract; candidates should be prepared to meet this expectation before applying
