Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiovascular Unit position requiring cardiac stepdown/PCU experience, chest tube management, and drip management on a 4x12 day shift schedule.
Details
- Mixed cardiovascular floor with 24 beds — 12 Step-Down and 12 Med-Surg — located in a newer hospital tower
- Patients include cardiac step-down, med-surg cardiovascular, cardiac rehab, and pre/post cardiac procedure cases
- Nursing care involves cardiac stabilizations, chest tube management, IV drip administration, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Bedside cardiac monitors are available in all patient rooms
- Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week (48 hours/week)
- May be required to interpret EKGs and monitor cardiac rhythms and rates
Requirements
- Active OK RN license or valid compact (eNLC) RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Cardiac unit experience with step-down/PCU experience required
- Experience with chest tubes and IV drip management required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include monitoring physiological data, administering medications, managing IV infusions and blood products, and collaborating on discharge planning
- Candidate is expected to collaborate with cardiac rehab, education teams, and coordinate discharge planning
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may work a maximum of 26 weeks (including one extension) before requiring a 6-month separation period before being eligible to return
- Compliance requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must be completed promptly after accepting an offer — start dates will not be pushed due to non-compliance
