Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Goldsboro, NC, requiring prior L&D experience, C-section circulation, and OB triage skills on a night shift schedule.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital setting with a 6-bed department and one C-section OR
- Unit averages approximately 100 deliveries per month, working with both OBGYNs and midwives
- Manages laboring patients, circulates and assists in C-sections, and recovers both labor and surgical patients
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Every other holiday (EOH) required
- No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact license valid in NC
- Current certifications required: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS (AHA or ARC), NRP, NIHSS, and CPI-A
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, with prior L&D experience required
- Ability to circulate for C-sections
- Ability to triage OB patients
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required; BSN or MSN preferred
- Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Manage laboring patients through the full continuum of L&D care, including circulating for C-sections and recovering both labor and surgical patients
- Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team including OBGYNs and midwives
- Performs bedside point-of-care testing as required by patient care plans
- Assesses and addresses discharge planning needs for patients and families
- Promotes culturally competent and cost-effective care in a collaborative unit environment
- Drug screening must be completed within 24 hours of accepting the position; allow at least 2 weeks for background check and drug screen results
