Description
American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist for a diagnostic radiology position requiring ARRT RT(R) certification and at least 1 year of mammography diagnostic experience.
Details
- Diagnostic radiology unit in a hospital setting
- 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
- Call, weekend, and holiday coverage required
Requirements
- Current ARRT certification in Radiography - RT(R) required
- Current Commonwealth of Kentucky Radiation License with the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of mammography diagnostic experience required
- Associate's degree from a JRCERT-accredited Radiology Program required
- Ability to operate all equipment related to the role
- Must maintain continuing education hours as required by licensing agency
- MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, computer processing, and related imaging techniques to produce diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed independent practitioners
- Performs and documents peripheral venipuncture when necessary for contrast-based exams
- Verifies patient orders, identity, and relevant history prior to procedures; continuously monitors patients throughout exams
- Applies ALARA principles and radiation protection standards for all procedures
- Verifies image archival to PACS and coordinates after-hours tele-radiology image transmission
- Performs equipment warm-up and QC checks, reports malfunctions and environmental safety concerns to appropriate personnel
- Assists Radiologists and authorized providers with exams and invasive procedures, including time-out documentation
- Assists with training new employees on equipment functionality and exam protocols, and provides supervision to imaging students on clinical rotation
- Collaborates with transport and nursing units to coordinate patient exams and daily patient flow
