Description
American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week day shift contract at a Level III Trauma Center in Milwaukee, WI.
Details
- Respiratory Therapy Services department at a 933-bed Level III Trauma Center and Magnet-designated hospital in Milwaukee, WI
- Level III NICU and Comprehensive Stroke Center on site
- Patient population is primarily geriatric and adult; some pediatric patients seen in the ED
- 1:1 patient ratio
- 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation
- On-call requirements vary
- Holiday rotation as assigned
- Floats within the hospital to all units
- Charting via Epic; Pyxis for medication dispensing
- Ventilator equipment includes AVEA, Servo U, LPU 1200, Parapack (MRI), and Hamilton (transport) vents
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of core Respiratory Therapy experience, with most recent experience within the last year
- Active CRT or RRT credential required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Active state license required, if applicable
- Proficiency in vent management, CPAP, BiPAP, nebulizer treatments, A-line placement, intubation, vent weaning, extubation, and ABGs
- Experience with AVEA, Servo U, LPU 1200, Parapack, and Hamilton ventilators
- COVID vaccination required
- Minimum 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, dated within the last year
- Candidate's middle name or initial, DOB, and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restrictions apply
- Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
- Orientation consists of at least one shift to learn workflow
- Block scheduling will not be accommodated
- Per facility fatigue policy, staff may not work more than 60 hours in a week or more than 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts
- Up to 7 days of time off may be approved during the contract
- Scrub color is open; camouflage and denim prints are not permitted
- Free parking available on site
