Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week day shift contract at a 933-bed Level III Trauma Center with Magnet Designation in Milwaukee, WI.

- Respiratory Therapy Services department at a 933-bed Magnet-designated Level III Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center in Milwaukee, WI
- Level III NICU on site
- Patient population is primarily geriatric and adult, with some pediatric patients seen in the ED
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Ventilator equipment includes AVEA, Servo U, LPU 1200, Parapack (MRI), and Hamilton (transport) vents
- Charting via Epic; Pyxis medication dispensing system on unit
- 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation
- On-call requirements vary
- Holiday rotation as assigned
- Floats within the hospital to all units
- Block scheduling will not be accommodated
Requirements
- Active CRT or RRT credential required; active state license required if applicable
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of core respiratory therapy experience, with most recent experience within the last year
- Proficiency in vent management, CPAP, BiPAP, nebulizer treatments, A-line placement, intubation, vent weaning, extubation, and ABGs
- Experience with AVEA, Servo U, LPU 1200, Parapack, and Hamilton ventilators
- Epic EMR experience
- COVID vaccination required
- Minimum 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, collected within the last year
- Candidate's middle name or initial, date of birth, and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restrictions apply
- Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
- Orientation consists of at least one shift to learn workflow and unit flow
- Up to 7 days of time off may be approved during the assignment
- Facility adheres to a fatigue policy limiting staff to no more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts
- Scrub color is open; camouflage and denim are not permitted
- Free parking is available on site
