Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level III Neonatal ICU travel assignment in Corpus Christi, TX, requiring ventilator experience and an active TX or compact RN license.
Details
- Level III NICU located on the 1st and 2nd floors of a hospital campus in Corpus Christi, TX
- 32-bed unit with a staff of 63 nurses
- Patient population includes neonates ranging from 23 to 40+ weeks gestation
- Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3
- Equipment includes ventilators, oscillators, and Vapotherm
- EMR systems used: Centricity Perinatal and Meditech
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week contract
- 3–4 weekends per month required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating to Level II NICU and Newborn Nursery may be required
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC accepted) and NRP Advanced 9th Edition (current card from American Academy of Pediatrics required)
- Minimum 1 year of recent NICU experience required
- Ventilator experience required
- Experience with neonates from 23 to 40+ weeks gestation required
- Ventilator/oscillator experience preferred
- Centricity Perinatal (CPN) charting experience preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Typical procedures include intubations, assisting with eye exams, feeding tube insertions, and IV insertions
- Night shift team includes one charge nurse, a part-time unit clerk, and nurses as needed for patient census
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Candidates with oscillator experience and CPN charting experience will be given priority consideration
