Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Critical Care Float Pool (nights) position at a Level I trauma center in Albany, NY, requiring previous travel experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Position is based in the Critical Care Float Pool of a large academic medical center in Albany, NY
• Float pool covers a variety of ICU environments including Neuro/Trauma SICU, MICU, CPS/VICU, CCU, Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCCU), and ICU/PCC patients in the ED and PACU awaiting bed placement
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Epic EMR experience required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required — candidates without Epic experience will not be considered
• All certifications must be from AHA or RQI
• US Social Security Number required — Canadian SIN not accepted
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Flu vaccine required; only medical exemptions signed by a licensed professional are accepted — personal or religious declinations will not be accepted
• Competency test required — ICU candidates have 2 attempts to pass

Additional Information

• Experience floating across multiple ICU environments is highly desired; Level I trauma center experience is a strong advantage
• Must be competent and comfortable caring for critically ill patients across a range of ICU settings
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted prior to placement
• Candidates residing in the following counties are not eligible: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington
• Travel pairs are not allowed for this position
• First-time travelers will not be considered — prior travel experience is required
