Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced L&D RN with AWHONN Advanced certification and Epic EMR experience for a night shift travel contract at an acute care hospital in California.
Details
- Work setting is an acute care hospital Labor & Delivery unit with 320 staffed beds
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Patient ratio is 1:2
- Floating required to Mother Baby unit and potentially across facilities within the state
- Weekend availability required — every other weekend at minimum, may exceed to meet unit needs
- No on-call responsibilities
- EMR: Epic (required)
- Scrubs are provided for L&D
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required — pending licenses are not accepted
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (hard stop — must have a passing certificate)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Minimum 1.5 years of L&D experience required; 2 years strongly preferred
- Must be able to independently perform sterile vaginal exams and triage without supervision (hard stop requirement)
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty are required for consideration
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
- Former permanent staff of this facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles away
- Refusal to float between facilities within the state may result in termination of the assignment
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application — minimal RTO is strongly preferred
- Block scheduling requests may be considered at the manager's discretion; scheduling requests related to secondary employment will not be accommodated
- Free parking is available on site
