Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR Circulator RN with neuro surgery experience for a 13-week day shift travel contract in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Details
- Work setting is a hospital Operating Room at a 244-bed facility serving Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois
- Primary specialty is Neuro Surgery with additional cases including General, Urology, GYN, and Ortho Surgery
- Surgical patient population across a variety of case types requiring flexibility
- Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM); limited to no more than 3 Fridays or Mondays off per 6-week schedule
- On-call required on average every 6–7 days with rotating weekend call; scheduled late shifts (non-call) may also be assigned
- No float requirements
- No weekend shift requirements outside of call rotation
- Equipment used includes DaVinci Xi robot, Hana Table, Arthrex tower, and Beach Chair positioning
- EMR: Epic
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license required (must be active at time of consideration; no expirations within the first 30 days of assignment unless renewal documentation is provided)
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Minimum 1 year of recent neuro surgery-specific OR experience required
- Experience with General, Urology, GYN, and Ortho surgery including scopes and arthroplasty required
- Experience with DaVinci Xi robotic surgery required
- Experience with Hana Table, Arthrex tower, and Beach Chair positioning required
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs are not accepted)
- No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Circulating RN responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating perioperative patient care and serving as a patient advocate throughout the surgical experience
- Hospital-provided scrubs worn in the OR; black scrubs required outside of hospital-issued attire — no other colors are acceptable
- Flu vaccination is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; exemptions must be client-approved
- Up to 5 days of RTO is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
- Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts; after that, they must either separate from the facility for a minimum of 1 year or transition to a facility outside the 50-mile radius
- A positive attitude, flexibility across case types, and a strong team-player mentality are important for success in this role
