Description
American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist - X-Ray with a minimum of 1 year of experience for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois.
Details
- 562-bed acute care hospital with Level I Trauma designation and Magnet status
- Settings include Adult Acute Care, Adult Outpatient, ER, ICU, NICU, and Operating Room
- Day shift, 5x8 hours, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Every 3rd weekend required, with holiday coverage also required
- On-call required as needed
- Candidates will float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
- Charting system is Cerner (experience preferred)
- Abdomen/GI X-ray procedures include: abdomen decubitus, abdomen supine (KUB), and abdomen upright
- Chest and thorax procedures include: chest AP, chest lateral decubitus, chest routine, and upper airway (soft tissue neck)
- Head X-ray procedures include: facial bones, orbits, paranasal sinuses, skull, and temporomandibular joints
- Lower extremity procedures include: ankle, femur, foot, knee, and tibia-fibula
- Mobile/surgical X-ray procedures include: C-arm, portable abdomen, and portable chest
- Spine and pelvis procedures include: cervical spine, hip, lumbar spine, pelvis, sacrum/coccyx, and thoracic spine
- Upper extremity procedures include: clavicle, elbow, forearm, hand, scapula, shoulder, trauma shoulder or humerus (scapular Y, transthoracic axial), and wrist
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of X-ray technologist experience required
- Active ARRT certification required
- Active BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted)
- Active IL state license required at time of consideration — license required if applicable
- Experience with O-ARM equipment required
- Level I Trauma experience preferred
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Must be in Illinois at least 3 business days prior to compliance deadline to meet fingerprinting requirements
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
- Candidates must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- RTO of up to 5 days is generally accommodated; anything beyond 5 days requires facility approval
- Any permanent or PRN employee of the facility's hospital system must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Travel pairs are not accepted
- Scrubs may be any solid color
- Parking is available at no cost via a permit obtained during orientation
- OR experience is preferred
