Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an acute care hospital Burn Unit position requiring 1+ year of experience, Epic proficiency, and availability to work every weekend.

Details

  • Work in a specialized Burn Unit within an acute care hospital setting
  • Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Weekend availability (Saturday and Sunday) is required, with 3 additional shifts selected from Monday through Friday
  • Patient population consists of burn patients with 0–100% TBSA burns
  • Caseload ranges from approximately 2 to 8 patients per day depending on season
  • Patients present with complex needs including pain management, surgical dressings, mobility limitations, contracture prevention, and scar management
  • Outpatient PT eval and therapy support may be performed as time allows
  • Floating within the inpatient setting is required
  • Epic EMR experience is required
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility

Requirements

  • Current, active OT or PT license (LA license required if applicable)
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical experience
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR required
  • Ability to float within the inpatient setting
  • A supervisor reference dated within the last 12 months is required for consideration
  • Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
  • Any employment gaps of more than 30 days must be documented and explained

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates must have been separated from any LCMC facility as a permanent employee for at least 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
  • Up to 5 days of RTO allowed for this location
  • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
  • Key responsibilities include promoting mobility, positioning to prevent contractures and scarring, and addressing functional limitations related to burn injuries
  • The facility and its affiliated system have strict scheduling and compliance expectations
