Description
American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an acute care hospital Burn Unit position requiring 1+ year of experience, Epic proficiency, and availability to work every weekend.
Details
- Work in a specialized Burn Unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Weekend availability (Saturday and Sunday) is required, with 3 additional shifts selected from Monday through Friday
- Patient population consists of burn patients with 0–100% TBSA burns
- Caseload ranges from approximately 2 to 8 patients per day depending on season
- Patients present with complex needs including pain management, surgical dressings, mobility limitations, contracture prevention, and scar management
- Outpatient PT eval and therapy support may be performed as time allows
- Floating within the inpatient setting is required
- Epic EMR experience is required
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
Requirements
- Current, active OT or PT license (LA license required if applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical experience
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Ability to float within the inpatient setting
- A supervisor reference dated within the last 12 months is required for consideration
- Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
- Any employment gaps of more than 30 days must be documented and explained
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must have been separated from any LCMC facility as a permanent employee for at least 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
- Up to 5 days of RTO allowed for this location
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
- Key responsibilities include promoting mobility, positioning to prevent contractures and scarring, and addressing functional limitations related to burn injuries
- The facility and its affiliated system have strict scheduling and compliance expectations
