Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Level I/II Trauma facility, requiring 1-2 years of vascular IR experience and BLS/ARRT certification.

Details

  • Interventional Radiology unit within a short-term acute care hospital
  • Level II Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma designation
  • 4 procedure rooms, including 3 with biplane imaging (3 Siemens, 1 GE)
  • Treats a wide variety of cases including stroke intervention, neurointerventions, PE thrombectomy and thrombolysis, DVT interventions, pain management procedures, and oncology procedures (Y-90, MAAs, chemoembolizations)
  • Daily caseload of 20-30 per tech
  • Uses GE Innova IGS, Siemens equipment, ultrasound, and PACS system
  • Cerner EMR preferred
  • 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Weekend work required
  • On-call required, 8-10 call days per month with one Saturday work per month; 30-minute response time to arrive at hospital; on-call sleep rooms available
  • May float within scope to meet facility needs

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience required, with vascular experience necessary
  • BLS and ARRT certification required
  • ARRT Advanced Cert, ARRT-R, and ARRT-VI preferred
  • FL license or compact license required at time of consideration; license required if applicable
  • Community Hospital experience required
  • Trauma Level I experience required; Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Skills required in PACS, contrast administration, and biopsies
  • Experience required with stents, ablations, angioplasty, angiograms, nephrograms, kyphoplasty, peripheral studies, upper and lower extremity studies, abdominal and pelvic studies, vascular studies, neurological studies, and stroke thrombectomy
  • Cerner charting experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include equipment setup, sterile field maintenance, room circulating, EKG lead placement, access site preparation, and accurate patient monitoring
  • Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) and venous access management preferred
  • Skills in genitourinary, abdominal/pelvic, vascular, and neurological IR procedures utilized
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • No RTO allowed in contract per facility policy
  • Locals accepted, though a 100-mile radius rule applies for travel rate eligibility
  • May float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals nearby
  • Smoke-free facility
  • Scrub color required: black or navy
  • COVID-19 vaccination required, with medical or religious exemptions accepted
  • Guaranteed hours apply after the first call-off per pay period
  • Permanent employees must wait at least 1 year before returning to any facility within this health system as a traveler
