Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a travel contract requiring Level 1 experience, specialty rotation across multiple surgical services, and on-call availability.
Details
- Hospital-based Operating Room setting
- Rotation across a variety of surgical specialty areas including Total Joints, Orthopedic Spine, Gynecology, and Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS)
- Day shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (5x8-hour shifts)
- On-call required: weekday call runs 6:30 PM–7:00 AM; weekend call runs Saturday 7:00 AM through Monday 7:00 AM on a rotating basis
- 40-minute response time required for on-call
- Call is assigned on a rotating schedule — approximately 2–3 weekday call shifts in the first 6-week block, followed by a weekend call block in the next 6-week period
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license with a clean licensure history (no licensure hits accepted)
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 3 years of recent OR experience required
- Level 1 trauma OR experience required
- Experience in Total Joints, Ortho Spine, GYN, and MIS required
- 2 supervisory references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates whose permanent residence is within 100 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
- Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 6 months before returning as a travel nurse
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of profile submission — RTO requested after submission will not be approved
