Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a MD or compact RN license, Epic experience, and a minimum of 3 years of ED experience, working nights with every other weekend coverage.
Details
- Work in a 46-bed Emergency Department with an average daily census of 140
- Patient population spans all age groups with diagnoses including chest pain, stroke, sepsis, cardiac arrest, trauma, and respiratory illness/arrest
- Patient ratio is 1:4, up to 1:5 with lower acuity patients
- Specialized equipment includes a Belmont rapid infuser in trauma, Giraffe warmer for neonates, rapid infuser, and Lucas device for cardiac arrests
- Epic EMR experience is required
- Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts (19:30–08:00)
- Every other weekend is required
- Holiday coverage required as shifts fall on the schedule
- Floating within the ED specialty is required as needed
- Scheduled on-call is not required
Requirements
- Active RN license for the state of Maryland (standard or compact)
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), CPI, and TNCC
- Minimum 3 years of ED experience required
- Travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers with 5+ years of ED experience will be considered
- Epic EMR experience required
Additional Information
- Provide emergency nursing care across all age groups in a high-volume, fast-paced ED setting
- Manage complex cases including trauma, cardiac arrest, stroke, and sepsis using specialized resuscitation equipment
- Any time-off requests should be disclosed upfront at the time of consideration
