Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Flex Pool position in Hawaii, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and the ability to float between multiple medical and surgical units on night shifts.
Details
- Hospital-based Flex Pool RN role floating between Medical, Surgical (Laulima Acute), and Cardiovascular units
- Medical unit has 77 beds (1:6 ratio days/evenings, 1:8 nights); Laulima Surgical Acute unit has 18 beds (1:6 ratio); Cardiovascular unit has 15 beds (1:4 ratio) — ratios may vary
- 12-hour night shifts (1845–0715), scheduled 36 hours per week following orientation
- Floating required between Medical, Laulima (Surgical Acute), and Cardiovascular units, with Cardiovascular float occurring on rare occasions
- Meditech EMR in use
- Equipment includes Pyxis medication dispensing, wound VAC, and chest tubes
Requirements
- Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment — candidates without one must apply upon acceptance of offer
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS/BCLS and ACLS
- Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC
- Experience in Med/Surg and Step-Down settings
- Documented proof of immunity required — medical and religious exemptions will not be accepted in lieu
Additional Information
- Orientation is provided for each unit prior to independent practice
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours before the start of assignment; this appointment is held at Hilo Employee Health and is mandatory — plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend Friday morning
- Clean, professional nursing scrubs required
- 13-week assignment
