Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Float Cardiac Telemetry position at a Level I trauma center, requiring at least 1 year of experience and the ability to float between cardiac telemetry and med-surg departments.
Details
- 28-bed cardiac telemetry units providing care for all cardiac needs, including post-op care
- Patient population spans all ages at a Level I trauma center
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6
- Unit is supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs for telemetry patients
- Required to float between cardiac telemetry and med-surg departments
- Day shift: 06:30–19:00
- Up to 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period required
- Holiday coverage required based on departmental need
Requirements
- Active RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
- BLS certification required — must be AHA-issued
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required
- Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
Additional Information
- Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols
- Responsible for implementing and monitoring patient care plans, recording and communicating patient condition as appropriate
- Serves as primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care
- Carries out physician and nursing orders and coordinates discharge planning with the healthcare team
- Nurses work collaboratively in teams with PCT and unit secretary support
- Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment are essential
- Standard precautions and appropriate PPE must be followed at all times
