Description
American Traveler is hiring a Float Cardiac Telemetry RN for a Level I trauma center requiring 2+ years of experience and a compact or OK RN license.
Details
- Work on a 28-bed cardiac telemetry unit caring for all cardiac needs, including post-op care
- Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-6
- Unit supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, monitor techs, and virtual sitter monitoring
- Level I trauma center serving patients of all ages
- Shift schedule of 06:30-19:00
- Float required to cardiac telemetry and med-surg departments
- Up to 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period
- Holiday coverage required if department has a need
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact or OK) currently in hand
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
Additional Information
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols
- Implement and monitor patient care plans, and communicate patient condition as appropriate
- Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
- Carry out physician and nursing orders
- Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
- Work within a team-based structure supported by PCTs and a unit secretary
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
- Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
- Local candidates accepted, subject to a radius rule that may affect pay rate
