Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department role requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

  • Emergency Department providing 24/7 emergency care for patients of all ages
  • Includes specialty rooms and an Extended Care Unit for observation
  • 24-hour EMS/ALS support in a modern setting
  • Day shift schedule, 7a-7p
  • 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact)
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, ENPC, and TNCC certifications required
  • Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required
  • ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
  • No prior experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
  • Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and care coordination across all age groups
  • Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching
  • Collaborate with inter-professional care team members to prioritize patient needs and plan care
  • Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
  • Promote a healing, patient and family-centered environment
