Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Renal Unit night shift position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

• 36-bed Renal Unit in a hospital setting caring for patients with acute and chronic kidney disease
• Patient population includes those requiring renal replacement therapy, post-hemodialysis care, and ongoing peritoneal dialysis
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as assigned
• Floating to other units and hospitals is required
• EMR: Meditech (experience not required)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AL state or compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
• No hits (past or current) on nursing license allowed
• Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross required
• ASN or higher required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; candidates with 18 months may be considered
• At least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry or Renal nursing required
• NURSYS verification required
• Active driver's license required
• Two professional references from within the last year required

• Works collaboratively with nephrologists, family practice providers, and hospitalists to deliver comprehensive renal patient care
• Solid navy scrubs required
• Virtual orientation includes competency-based modules — no HealthStream modules required prior to start
• A Cardiac Exam will be administered after offer acceptance
