Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Renal Unit night shift position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience and an active AL or Compact RN license.

Details

• 36-bed inpatient Renal Unit within a hospital setting
• Cares for patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, including those requiring renal replacement therapy
• Specialized procedures include post-hemodialysis care and ongoing peritoneal dialysis management
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as assigned
• Floating to other units and hospitals is required
• EMR: Meditech (experience not required)

Requirements

• Active AL state or Compact RN license required — no temporary or pending licenses accepted
• No hits (past or current) on nursing license allowed
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Current BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; candidates with 18 months may be considered if experience was under the highest level of professional licensure
• At least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry or Renal specialty required
• Active license, 2 references from within the last year, skills checklist, and a current driver's license required for consideration
• NURSYS verification required

• A Cardiac Exam will be administered after offer acceptance
• No HealthStream modules required prior to start — competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restrictions
• 13-week contract
