Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Critical Care ICU (CCU) position in Indianapolis, IN, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and ACLS/BLS certifications on a night shift schedule.
Details
- Neuro Critical Care unit within an inpatient hospital setting
- 10-bed unit specializing in neurosurgical and neurological intensive care
- Patient population includes ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, post-op craniotomy, seizures, encephalopathy, and neurologic tumors
- Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on acuity
- Equipment includes Alaris pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, EV1000, and Neuroptics Pupillometer
- Epic EMR in use; experience is preferred
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend commitment required
- Floating to other inpatient areas required when home unit is low census
- No on-call requirements
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active IN RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience required
- Strong comprehensive and neurological assessment skills required
- Experience caring for hemodynamically unstable and mechanically ventilated patients required
- Preferred experience includes pupillometer use, external ventricular drain (EVD) management, ICP waveform management, CRRT, and Epic EMR
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Valid US SSN required
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to neurosurgical and neurological patients requiring intensive monitoring and intervention
- EKG testing is required as part of the consideration process; candidates are allowed 2 attempts, with a 30-day waiting period before reapplying if unsuccessful
- Orientation includes online modules, Epic training if needed, and one day of on-unit orientation
- Navy scrubs required; hoodies are not permitted
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible to apply at a reduced bill rate
