Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Critical Care ICU (CCU) position in Indianapolis, IN, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and ACLS/BLS certifications on a night shift schedule.

Details

• Neuro Critical Care unit within an inpatient hospital setting
• 10-bed unit specializing in neurosurgical and neurological intensive care
• Patient population includes ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, post-op craniotomy, seizures, encephalopathy, and neurologic tumors
• Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on acuity
• Equipment includes Alaris pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, EV1000, and Neuroptics Pupillometer
• Epic EMR in use; experience is preferred
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend commitment required
• Floating to other inpatient areas required when home unit is low census
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active IN RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience required
• Strong comprehensive and neurological assessment skills required
• Experience caring for hemodynamically unstable and mechanically ventilated patients required
• Preferred experience includes pupillometer use, external ventricular drain (EVD) management, ICP waveform management, CRRT, and Epic EMR
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Valid US SSN required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to neurosurgical and neurological patients requiring intensive monitoring and intervention
• EKG testing is required as part of the consideration process; candidates are allowed 2 attempts, with a 30-day waiting period before reapplying if unsuccessful
• Orientation includes online modules, Epic training if needed, and one day of on-unit orientation
• Navy scrubs required; hoodies are not permitted
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible to apply at a reduced bill rate
