Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with ICU and ER experience for a day shift position at a medical center in Round Rock, TX.
Details
- Located in the main hospital building on the first floor in the Respiratory Therapy department
- 205-bed facility with a team of 35 respiratory therapy staff
- Day shift coverage spans the ER, ICU, and general floors
- Shift hours are 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Procedures include ventilator and BiPAP management, aerosol therapies, chest physiotherapy (CPT), and oxygen therapy
- Equipment used includes Puritan Bennett (PB) 980 and 840 ventilators, V-60 BiPAP, and Siemens ABG instruments
- EMR system is Meditech
Requirements
- Active RRT license and certification required; license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Respiratory Therapy, with at least 6 months of active practice within the last 6 months
- ICU and ER experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted); certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
- NRP preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
- SSN (US only, no Canadian SSN) and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

- Responsible for ventilator and BiPAP management, aerosol therapy, CPT, and oxygen delivery across the ER, ICU, and floor settings
- Day shift is staffed with one charge therapist and five therapists covering all areas
- Required scrub colors are sage top and black pants
- The department reports 0% annual turnover, reflecting a strong and collaborative team culture
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
