Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Room position in Iowa, requiring an active IA or compact RN license and certifications including TNCC, ACLS, PALS, and BLS.

• Hospital emergency room setting
• Night shift schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Iowa RN license or compact license currently in hand
• Required certifications: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
• All certifications (BLS, ACLS) must be through the American Heart Association
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Emergency room experience preferred but not required
• Must provide two recent employment references for consideration
• Required immunizations: MMR (2 doses or positive titers), Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines), Polio, Hepatitis B (series, titer, or signed declination), TDaP (within 10 years), flu vaccine (if applicable during flu season Oct 1–Mar 31), and negative 2-step Mantoux within 1 year or QuantiFERON Gold (if positive, chest X-ray required)
• Proof of physical within 1 year of start date required
• 10-panel drug screen within 1 month of start date required
• Respiratory fit test within 1 year of start date required
• Criminal background check required for all states where licensure is held or where candidate has lived/worked in the past 7 years

Additional Information

• Responsible for total patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs
• Provides patient and family teaching and directs ancillary personnel in accordance with professional nursing standards
• Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certificates (Child Abuse and Dependent Adult Abuse) required prior to start
• Completion of facility-assigned CareLearning education modules required prior to start date
• Local candidates are accepted for this position
