Description
American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist for a weekend-only travel contract in Charleston, SC, requiring ARRT certification and AHA BLS
Details
- Radiology MRI department in an acute care hospital setting
- 13-week contract with 3x12-hour shifts per week, Friday through Sunday (Friday 8:00 AM–8:30 PM, Saturday/Sunday 7:30 AM–8:00 PM)
- 36 hours per week
- May float to a nearby sister hospital
- Charting via Cerner
Requirements
- ARRT registration required
- Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers required
- Active SC or compact state license required, if applicable
- Graduate of an accredited Allied Health Professional program
- MRI or cross-sectional anatomy experience preferred
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk, lift/move patients, and carry or push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to perform and teach MRI exams to produce diagnostic-quality images
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- 2 professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Perform MRI procedures under the medical supervision of certified radiologists following established protocols
- Responsible for patient safety and age-appropriate care throughout imaging procedures
- Supervise and assist in the clinical education of student MRI technologists
- Ensure correct orders, diagnosis, and clinical history are entered into the system and communicate findings with radiologists
- Adhere to ALARA radiation safety principles and comply with OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards
- Work environment includes exposure to radiation, blood/body fluids, infectious materials, and occasional toxic or caustic chemicals
- On-call and holiday coverage may be required based on departmental needs
- Travelers who have completed one calendar year at this facility must take a 30–60 day break before returning to a new assignment
