Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring AWHONN Advanced certification, Epic EMR experience, and the ability to independently perform sterile vaginal exams.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with a dedicated Labor & Delivery unit
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Must be open to working weekends, potentially exceeding every other weekend to meet unit needs
• Floating required to Mother Baby unit
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR experience required
• Scrubs are provided for L&D

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required — pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 1.5 years of L&D experience required; 2 years strongly preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced (hard stop — must have a passing score), BLS, and NRP
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must be able to independently perform sterile vaginal exams and triage without supervision — this is a hard stop requirement
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates; candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a local rate
• Former permanent employees of the facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• Block scheduling requests are at the manager's discretion
• Scheduling requests due to additional outside employment will not be considered
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
