Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift travel contract requiring a minimum of 2 years of recent ER experience and both KS and MO (or compact) RN licensure.
Details
- General Emergency Department serving a combined adult and pediatric population
- Non-trauma ED that is a Primary Stroke and STEMI Center
- Occasional OB patients may require management of mother/baby until transfer
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Required skills include management of dysrhythmias, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, central line care, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP, ventilated patients, isolation precautions, and triage
- Preferred skills include interpretation of dysrhythmias, arterial line management, and ABG interpretation
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period, consisting of a combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- Floating may be required between the ED Hold area, other departments, units, and facilities
- No on-call requirements
- Block scheduling is not available
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license in both Kansas and Missouri, or a compact license that covers both states, must be in hand at time of consideration — unwillingness to float across state lines may result in cancellation
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
- Preferred certifications: CPI and MAB
- Minimum of 2 years of recent ER experience required, including at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days
- Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
- 2 professional references required: at least one must be supervisor-level or above; the second may be a charge RN; all references must be from the past year
- SSN required for consideration
- Travel partners are not accepted for this position
Additional Information
- Charge RN assignments may be required as needed per unit policy
- Holiday shift coverage is required as assigned
- RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the contract
- Completion of online compliance modules is required prior to start (approximately 10–15 hours total)
