Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU (SICU) position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring a VA or compact RN license and at least 2 years of experience.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting, Level II Trauma Center with 431 staffed beds
- Specialized SICU patient population including trauma, cardiovascular surgery (TAVR, CABG), neurosurgery, and complex post-operative surgical patients
- Diagnoses include acute ventilator management, COVID-19 with high O2 demand, DKA, severe sepsis, unstable GI bleed, trauma, open heart recovery, TAVR recovery, post-code blue, multi-system organ failure, and CRRT needs
- Patient ratio of 1:2–3, adjusted to skill level and acuity during float assignments
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- Block scheduling is not available
- Charting system: Epic
- Local candidates are accepted
Requirements
- Active VA or compact RN license required
- Current ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with arterial line management and blood product administration
- Ventilator management experience required
