Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Emergency Department (ED) setting within a hospital environment
• Treats a broad patient population spanning neonates to geriatrics for all complaint types
• Patient ratio of 1:4 in a 14-room, 17-bed unit with an average daily volume of 60 patients
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:30–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR
• 12-week contract

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Navy blue scrubs required
• RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage is expected based on the number of major holidays falling within the assignment period: if one or two major holidays occur, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays occur, travelers are expected to work two of them with one holiday RTO request eligible for approval
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counted as one), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counted as one), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counted as one)
• Set schedules are used; no alternate shifts or schedule change requests are permitted
• Candidates must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of one full year before returning as a traveler
