Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Surgery Trauma unit at a Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Position is based in a high-acuity Surgery Trauma unit (6B) at an inner-city Level 1 trauma center
- Patient population includes surgical, gunshot wound, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
- Patient ratio is 5:1
- Unit is supported by nursing techs, phlebotomists, and a unit secretary during night shifts
- ED nurse and admitting unit complete a nurse handoff upon patient admission
- Schedule consists of 3x12-hour day shifts per week
- Block scheduling is not available — candidates must be flexible with assigned shifts
- Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR experience is required
Requirements
- Active RN license — Georgia (GA) or Compact license required
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or Surgery Trauma specialty experience required
- Experience in high-acuity, high-volume hospital environments with complex and severe cases required
- Proficiency in Epic EMR required
Additional Information
- Candidates whose experience is limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
- No RTO (requested time off) will be approved during the contract
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
