Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift travel position in Elko, NV, requiring at least 1 year of experience and AHA-certified ACLS and PALS.

Details

• Acute care Med/Surg unit within a Joint Commission-accredited hospital
• 23-bed unit serving pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Common diagnoses and treatments include COPD, CHF, pre/post cath lab, ortho surgery, general surgery, and acute respiratory failure (adult and pediatric)
• Telemetry monitoring is part of the patient care scope
• Equipment includes Omnicell medication dispensers, Baxter pumps, Masimo monitors, and GE Telemetry Monitoring system
• EMR: MEDHOST
• 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to other departments possible based on patient census and departmental needs
• 10-week contract

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required
• AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS required (ACLS must be obtained within 60 days and PALS within 90 days of start if not already held at time of hire)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Med/Surg and telemetry experience preferred
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates

Additional Information

• Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
• No mandatory scrub color — any color scrubs are acceptable
• Fit testing for respiratory equipment is available on-site for travelers
• Weekly orientations are available
• Elko, NV is located approximately 3 hours from Salt Lake City and offers year-round outdoor recreation including hiking, skiing, fishing, and more
