Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position in Reno, NV, requiring a minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience and an active NV RN license.
Details
- 13-week travel contract
- South Meadows Telemetry unit at a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule: 3x12, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Patient population includes CHF, alcohol withdrawal, NSTEMI, sepsis, dysrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, COVID, and post-procedure patients (pacemakers, ablations, cath lab, and ICU step-down)
- Non-titratable cardiac medication drips administered, including Cardizem, Lasix, and Nitro
- Charting via Epic EMR; training provided during orientation or candidates may test out
- No on-call requirements
- Floating may be required to ICUs (for telemetry/medically appropriate assignments), med/surg units, and a sister facility
- Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and varied shifts based on department needs
Requirements
- Active NV RN license required prior to start; RNs who have never held a NV license may be considered but must apply immediately upon offer
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required
- Must pass a telemetry competency exam, including identifying and measuring rhythm strips — failure results in contract termination
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Provides individualized nursing care across the full episode of care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including family and caregiver involvement
- Fast-paced, high-volume environment functioning at a Level II Trauma Center with stroke accreditation
- Minimum of 2 major holidays required during the assignment
- Blocked scheduling is not permitted
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must complete a 13-week break after their last contract before returning
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; the facility does not extend contracts to compensate for RTO
- KRONOS used for time keeping
