Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Telemetry RN for a 3x12 day shift assignment requiring an active NV RN license and 2+ years of telemetry experience.

Details

• Medical and Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Patient population includes CHF, alcohol withdrawal, NSTEMI, sepsis, dysrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, and COVID cases
• Cares for post-procedure patients including pacemaker, ablation, cath lab, and open-heart surgery patients downgraded from ICU
• Administers non-titratable cardiac medication drips such as Cardizem, Lasix, and Nitro
• 3x12 day shift schedule
• No call requirements
• May float to ICU, medical-surgical units, or Renown Regional based on competency and organizational need
• Level II Trauma Center with Stroke accreditation in an 800-bed hospital

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required prior to start
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam including rhythm strip identification and measurement
• Minimum of one recent 13-week travel assignment within the past year required prior to consideration

Additional Information

• Provides comprehensive nursing care across the full episode of treatment for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Coordinates care with a multidisciplinary team to support patient-centered outcomes
• Uses Epic EMR charting with training provided during orientation or the option to test out
• Required to work a minimum of 2 major holidays
• May be required to pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
• Facility may cancel full or partial shifts with 48 hours' notice due to low census without penalty
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Returning travelers must have a 13-week break after completing a prior assignment before starting a new one
• Requested RTO must be submitted with the initial application, as time is not added at the end of the contract to accommodate RTO
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted; all assignments are set for 13 weeks
