Description
American Traveler is hiring a floating MRI Technologist with 2+ years of MRI experience for an outpatient clinic position requiring Siemens equipment proficiency and a broad range of MRI scanning skills.
Details
- Outpatient clinic setting within the Radiology/MRI department
- Primary work location is the West Ashley site, with float to the North Charleston location 1–2 times per week as a Mobile MRI Tech
- Patient population requires a broad range of MRI examinations including general MRI, implants, elastography, defecography, breast, and cardiac studies
- Primary schedule is 5x8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday (12:30 PM – 9:00 PM); 4x10 (10:30 AM – 9:00 PM) or 3x12 (8:30 AM – 9:00 PM) schedules may also be considered
- Saturday shifts (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM) are required on a rotating basis; on Saturday weeks, the technologist works 4 weekday shifts plus the Saturday shift totaling 40 hours
- No on-call requirement
- Charting system is Epic; experience is preferred
- Preferred experience with Sectra imaging system
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of MRI experience required
- Current BLS (AHA) required
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification required; SC state license is not required for this position — license required if applicable
- Proficiency with Siemens MRI equipment required
- Skills required include general MRI exams, implants, elastography, defecography, breast MRI, and cardiac MRI
- Radiation badge required — must be provided by the candidate's agency prior to start
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Performs high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols for physician interpretation
- Reports to the site supervisor and manager of radiology
- Teal top and black pants scrubs required
- Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date and average approximately 4 hours
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Candidates who have previously worked at any MUSC facility as permanent or PRN staff must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; approval is based on unit needs
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak months are August and September
