Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Surgery Trauma unit position at a Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work setting is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center Surgery Trauma unit (6B)
• Patient population includes surgical, gunshot wound, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
• Patient ratio is 5:1
• Support staff includes nursing techs, phlebotomists, and a unit secretary on nights
• ED nurse and admitting unit complete a nurse handoff upon admission
• 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week
• 4 weekend shifts required per month
• Block scheduling is not available — must be willing to work assigned shifts
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR experience is required
• No RTO (time off requests) approved

Requirements

• Active RN license — GA or Compact license required
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or Surgery Trauma specialty experience
• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume hospital environments with complex and severe cases required
• Proficiency in Epic EMR required

• This is a high-pressure, fast-paced trauma environment — candidates must have a proven track record in large-scale, high-volume trauma settings
• Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals are not likely to be considered
