Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with critical care experience for a night shift position at a Level 1 Trauma, academic medical center in Winston-Salem, NC.
Details
- 885-bed Level 1 Trauma designated academic medical center
- Respiratory Care department serving adult patients across ICU and Medical/Surgical floors based on departmental needs
- Patient population includes post-surgical, pneumonia, COPD, asthma, and ED cases
- EMR: Epic
- Preferred equipment experience: Servo U, Servo Air, The Vest, Volara, Aerogen, Heated High Flow, and Cough Assist
- Night shift: 18:30–07:00 (12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week)
- Schedule cycles every 6 weeks
- Weekend rotation every other weekend
- No on-call required
- No floating required — assignment is based on traveler experience and unit needs
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
Requirements
- Active NC Respiratory Therapist license required if applicable
- RRT credential required; CRT is acceptable but not preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy critical care experience
- Previous experience in a Level 1 trauma center and/or high-acuity setting preferred
- Epic EMR experience
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- Former employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated from that facility for at least 1 year after holding a permanent position before being eligible
- RTO requires manager approval
- Shift scheduling is managed on a 6-week cycle
- Lead Therapists are present on each shift with a strong team-oriented culture
- Department features experienced long-tenured staff and leadership
- New employee orientation (NEO) followed by 1–2 days of departmental orientation
- Scrub color: Pewter (charcoal grey)
