Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position in Smyrna, TN, requiring a minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience including diagnostic procedures and PCIs.
Details
- Located in a 115-bed community hospital setting in Smyrna, TN
- Assignment in the Cardiac Cath Lab unit
- 1:1 patient ratio in the cath lab
- Unit staffing consists of 3-person cath and call teams with 5–6 staff per day
- Procedures include left and right heart caths, PCI (Type A, B1, some B2 lesions; no Type C), Rotablator, CSI, Shockwave, Impella, Getinge IABP, Boston Polaris (FFR and IVUS), and Abbott Illumien FFR
- Equipment includes GE X-ray and Alaris pumps
- Documentation systems: Merge Hemo and Meditech
- Schedule is 4x10-hour shifts, Monday–Friday with variable days (7:00 AM–5:30 PM)
- Call requirements include up to 8 weekday call days and up to 6 weekend call days per month
- RNs may be required to float to cover Cardiology patients in Non-Invasive, CT, MRI, and Nuclear Medicine; no floating to other hospital departments
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license — TN license or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment)
- ARRT or RCIS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab experience required
- Experience with both diagnostic caths and PCIs required
- Monitor experience (all types), circulating, sedation, and scrubbing experience required
- Community hospital and/or mixed IR & Cath Lab setting experience preferred
- Advanced skills in IR, Specials, and Vascular procedures preferred
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)

- Daily responsibilities include assisting with diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, patient monitoring, moderate sedation administration, and circulating duties
- Highly engaged leadership team with a focus on departmental success
- Small hospital with a close-knit, family-like work environment
- Scrub color requirements: red top and bottom, black top with red bottoms, or ceil blue
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
