Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR Scrub and Circulate position requiring 3–5 years of complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular OR experience with the ability to both scrub and circulate.

Details

• Hospital-based Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) setting
• 13-hour day shifts, 6:00 AM – 7:30 PM, working 39 hours per week
• Primarily a scrub role, with circulating responsibilities as needed
• Complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular case types including CABG (primary and redo), aortic aneurysms, AVR/MVR (primary and redo), TAVR, ECMO, and VADs — adult required, pediatric experience a plus
• Ongoing research protocols are a standard part of the work environment
• On-call required, approximately 1–2 call shifts per week including 1–2 weekends per 6-week schedule
• Free on-site parking available

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• CNOR certification preferred
• 3–5 years of recent RN experience scrubbing and circulating in complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases required
• Strong multitasking and critical thinking skills required
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as a collaborative team member

Additional Information

• Candidate will primarily scrub but must be fully competent to circulate as well
• Holiday coverage is required: one summer holiday (Memorial Day, 4th of July, or Labor Day) and one winter holiday (Thanksgiving or Christmas) per department need
• Any requested time off must be added to the end of the contract to ensure a full 13 working weeks
• Overtime may be required based on department needs
• Active participation in professional and departmental activities is expected
