Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position at a large Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and prior Neuro ICU background.

Details

• Large Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center with 1,500+ beds
• Neuro ICU unit with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio on both day and night shifts
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Charting performed in Epic
• Parking is available at a cost of $125/month

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Prior Neuro ICU experience required
• Trauma center experience at a large facility required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Active RN license must be free of prior disciplinary actions
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to neurological ICU patients in a high-acuity academic medical center environment
• Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccine required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• RTO of 7 days or fewer may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval
• Block scheduling is not available for this assignment
