Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU (SICU) position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL, working night shifts with floating requirements.

Details

• Located in a 562-bed, Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated acute care hospital
• SICU unit with patient ratios that may reach 1:3
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating is required for all travelers, within scope, primarily to other ICUs and occasionally to an affiliate hospital nearby
• Charting is done in Cerner
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius requirement
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Illinois (IL) RN license required
• Active certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of SICU or ICU nursing experience required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been away for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• RTO of 5 days or fewer is ideally requested; anything beyond 5 days requires facility approval
• Travel pairs are not accepted
• Scrubs must be any solid color
• Free parking is available on-site with a permit obtained during orientation
